With three albums recorded together the handful of gigs we play a year turn into acoustic picking parties. Casper Allen || with Nathan Xander

Hailing from the furthest reaches of Texas, Casper Allen left home early in search of experience, and years later, his search continues. Detailing his experiences in the Texas songwriting tradition of his heroes Guy Clark and Townes Van Zandt, with a raw and aggressive bluesy vocal styling reminiscent of the Texas bluesmen Freddie King and Albert Collins, Allen explores themes of addiction, life on the road and the ups and downs of a life well-traveled with a style developed busking on street corners and playing in dirty bars across the greater US.

Nathan Xander writes songs that are steeped in the quiet, restrained tension of what Greil Marcus called the 'Old, Weird America'. With musical sensibilities inspired by latter-day Nick Lowe, Tom T Hall and Paul Westerberg, Xander sorts through loss and evolving identity as he stands on the threshold of a new era in his own career.

They’ve become a mainstay at festivals including Byron Bay Bluesfest, Outside Lands, Monterey Jazz, Lightning In A Bottle and touring with BB King, Dr John, Bonnie Raitt, Buddy Guy and Allen Toussaint. Led by the enigmatic and energetic frontman, Lech Wierzynski and drummer Benjamin Malament, each member of the band is a virtuoso in their own rite—Yanos “Johnny Bones” Lustig on saxophone, Lorenzo Loera on keyboards/guitar, Beaumont Beaullieu on bass and regularly accompanied by Scott Messersmith on percussion, Oliver Tuttle on trombone, Leon Cotter on saxophone/clarinet, and Miles Lyons on trombone/sousaphone—navigating through a vast repertoire of original songs and timeless classics every night. But what trulysets them apart is their unwavering commitment to the art of improvisation-a skill so finely honed that they have completely abandoned the use of set lists and no two shows are ever the same.

Melvin Seals & JGB

Melvin Seals has been a powerful presence in the music industry for over 30 years with a long-established reputation as a performer, recording artist and producer. Melvin is most revered for his powerful, high-spirited, Hammond B-3 organ, and keyboards in the Jerry Garcia Band. Melvin spun his B-3 magic with the Jerry Garcia Band for 18 years and in doing so helped pioneer and define what has now become "Jam Band Music". From blues to funk to rock to jazz, Melvin Seals serves up a tasty mix with a little R&B and gospel thrown in to spice things up.

Melvin and JGB bring an intuitive, expressive style, soul, spontaneity and remarkable chops to the table. John Kadlecik on lead guitar and vocal duties, John-Paul McLean's savory bass, Jeremy Hoenig on the drums and, of course, a heapin' helpin' of the wizard's magic on Hammond B-3 Organ and keyboards. Their chemistry is the focus from which they create a spontaneous and high art where the sky is the limit musically. They offer an exciting, often psychedelic musical journey that changes nightly and keeps the audience dancing and smiling(and some staring in amazement) for hours.

Nick Shoulder & The Okay Crawdad

TICKETS FOR THIS SHOW GO ON SALE FRIDAY APRIL 26TH AT 10A

All Bad, the latest album from Nick Shoulders, ultimately encapsulates everything that makes Shoulders’ inimitable form of country music so vital: a heady balance of dazzling musicianship and punk defiance, coupled with gritty eccentricity and a generational connection to the roots of the genre. With a singing style inherited from his family’s vocal lineage, Nick’s songs achieve the rare feat of imparting difficult truths while inciting a certain joyful abandon, balancing a sound forged by years of hard travel with a heartfelt reverence for the origins of country music. In the spirit of Hazel Dickens and Jimmy Driftwood, the incisive yet wildly jubilant All Bad vocally objects to the reckless destruction of the natural landscape and development run rampant, while still offering plenty of joy and dance-ready rhythms.

Fast-paced, high-energy foot stompers. Ballads that'll make you cry. It's kind of like a rock band married old-fashioned bluegrass and had a little baby. And named it TopHouse.
